DIRECTV was known as the leader in sports and earned significant revenue in the various seasonal packages like MLB Extra Innings and NBA League Pass. Along with developing creative and media plans across the businesses, I also launched @SportsonDIRECTV - a social handle dedicated to all things sports. The idea was to show off our sports expertise while creating an authentic, engaged audience where we could organically drive sales. One of my other favorite executions is the MLB Extra Innings Pause Ad. It was a brand new ad unit that launched when customers paused their TVs. We turned our customers’ televisions into stadium jumbotrons with fun games and a day to night transition. It even featured the DIRECTV blimp! The sales team used this creative as an example when pitching new clients.
